Xbox out selling Gamecube?
Eric @ 12:21 AM EST
According to CSFB, as of November 24, 2001, Nintendo had sold 469,000 GameCube consoles compared to 556,000 for Microsoft's Xbox. Xbox had most of its sales activity confined to the Thursday, Friday and Saturday before GameCube's launch on Sunday November 18. For the week beginning on Sunday Nov. 18 and ending Saturday Nov 24, the Gamecube outsold the Xbox 469,000 to 186,000. But its also worth noting that Microsoft didn't ship as many Xbox's as Nintendo did its Gamecube, so there was a lot more Gamecube's out that week to go around. In any case, both consoles are selling well and with all the things that have been going on its nice to see something doing good. We will have to wait for more sales reports in the coming weeks to see who the true winner is, but in the end both are selling nicely.
