XBox Selling Well
Steve @ 6:59 PM EST
Microsoft has shipped between 300,000-400,000 Xbox units, all of which are sold out.

Peter Roithmayr of Electronics Boutique said, "It's incredible, We had the single largest sales day in...history. We have seen a very strong software and accessory attach beyond the first day of sales...consumers are obviously pleased."

During this holiday season, Microsoft says it will ship at least 100,000 Xbox's a week. There is a good chance that you will be able to get one if you haven't already. By the end of this holiday season, Microsoft should have well over 1 million Xbox's shipped. Sources say Microsoft will have closer to 1.5 million Xbox's shipped.

XBox Forces PS3 to Come out Earlier then Planned?
Steve @ 6:43 PM EST
Sony's President Kunitake Ando said that PS2 would last 5 years, but there's been a change in plans now that XBox is in the picture.

"The biggest threat to PlayStation 2 is that the Xbox changes the industry's lifecycle. It is unclear how long we can keep this business model."

He also said, "If it reduces it to three years we are okay."

Clearly, Sony understands that Microsoft is a company with power, hence a threat. So could that mean by the end of next year Sony is going to be talking about PS3? Is there enough room for another system in 2 years?

Eric: With 20 million + PS2 sold world wide Sony would be dumb to release PS3 anytime soon and if they did it would really piss a lot of people off.

"The advanced technology of the Xbox and PlayStation 2 enables us to expand the Blade experience and provide fans with a brand-new storyline, advanced combat maneuvers, and all-new special effects."
